The licence, in plain English.
Supplied by Cale Eggleshaw, trading as JCJ Creations (Australia). This is written in plain English on purpose. If anything here is unclear, ask before you buy rather than after. Questions to hello@jcjcreations.au.
01 What you bought
One copy of Renewal Register, licensed to one organisation, for as long as you want to use it. There is no expiry and no renewal fee.
“One organisation” means the business or entity that paid. If you are a sole support coordinator, that is you. If you are a provider with eight coordinators, that is the provider, and all eight are covered.
02 What you can do with it
- Install it on as many devices as that organisation needs. Laptops, desktops, an office machine and a home one. No limit and no count kept.
- Copy it to a shared drive so your own people can get at it.
- Keep using this version forever, including after the update period ends.
- Rename the file, change the document types, edit the colours. It is one readable file and it is yours to adjust. If you break it, keep a copy of the original.
- Back it up, archive it, include it in your own disaster recovery.
03 What you cannot do with it
- Pass it to another organisation, sell it, sublicense it, or publish it anywhere others can download it.
- Rebrand it and present it as your own product or as part of a service you charge for.
The file is plain readable text and nothing in it stops you doing any of this. There is no licence key, no activation, no phone-home check, and there never will be, because any of those would mean the tool talking to a server and that would break the one promise it makes. You are being asked, not policed.
If you need to cover several separate organisations, email and we will work out something fair. It will cost less than buying one each.
04 Updates
Any version released in the twelve months after your purchase date is included, free. Email and ask for the current build, or you will be told when one comes out if you want to be.
After twelve months the copy you hold keeps working exactly as it does now. You are not cut off and nothing stops functioning. You are only outside the window for new builds.
05 Your data
Your register never leaves your device. It is held in your browser’s local storage on the machine you use it on. No account, no server, no analytics, and no network call of any kind. The 1.0 build was tested in a real browser and made exactly one request, for itself.
That means:
- Nobody at JCJ Creations can see your data, recover it, or confirm what is in it. Not “will not”. Cannot.
- Moving to a new device means carrying a backup file across by hand.
No documents are stored. Every record is a fact about a document, plus a note of where the real file already lives.
06 What it does not do
It does not certify that you are compliant. It tracks what is held, what is due and what is missing, and it reminds you. Judging whether your organisation meets its obligations is your call, your organisation’s call, and your auditor’s call. Nothing produced by this tool is legal, regulatory or compliance advice, and it is not a substitute for advice from someone qualified to give it.
It is not a record of truth. It holds what someone typed into it. If the dates going in are wrong, the dates coming out are wrong.
07 Support
One person builds and supports this. Email hello@jcjcreations.au and you will get a real reply, usually within a couple of business days.
Because your data never leaves your device there is nothing to look at from this end. The things that actually help: what version you are on (Setup → 06), what you did, what you expected, and what happened instead. If you can, attach the exported CSV with the names taken out.
Bug reports are welcome and get fixed. Feature requests are welcome and get considered honestly, which sometimes means no.
08 Refunds
Thirty days, no questions, full refund. Email and ask.
You are buying a file you cannot try before paying, so the guarantee is doing the job a trial normally would. Use it if the tool is not what you expected. You do not need to justify it and you will not be argued with.
09 Warranty and liability
Supplied as is. Beyond the consumer guarantees described below, no promise is made that the tool is fit for any particular purpose or that it will be free of faults, and liability for loss arising from using it is limited to the amount you paid.
Your rights under Australian Consumer Law are not affected by anything in this licence. Goods and services supplied in Australia for under $100,000 come with consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded, including that they are of acceptable quality and match their description. Those guarantees apply whether you bought this as a business or as an individual. If this tool fails to meet one of those guarantees, you are entitled to a remedy under that law regardless of what the paragraph above says.
10 Governing law
The laws of Queensland, Australia.
